Elena Caragiani-Stoenescu

Elena Caragiani-Stoenescu (b. 13 May 1887 – d. 29 March 1929, Bucharest) is the first woman aviator in Romania.〔Marcu, George (coord.), ''Dicţionarul personalităţilor feminine din România'', Editura Meronia, Bucureşti, 2009〕
Her first flight occurred in 1912, accompanied by her horse riding instructor Mircea Zorileanu, and her no 1591〔http://enciclopediaromaniei.ro/wiki/Elena_Caragiani-Stoenescu〕 license was achieved from the International Aeronautical Federation, in 1914, in France.
